Envision Registry (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website (the “Service”), a platform that lets Users create and share online gift registries for weddings, anniversaries, bridal showers, and other celebrations. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
It applies to two groups of people: Users who create an account and manage a registry, and guests who visit a public registry page to view or claim a gift.
Account information. When you register, we collect your name and email address. Your password is handled by our platform’s authentication system and is never visible to us.
Registry content. The details you add to your registry: partner names, event date, profile and cover photos, personal messages, and gift items (including product names, prices, images, and retailer links you add or auto-fill).
Product links. When you paste a retailer link, an automated system visits the retailer’s publicly available product page and pulls in the product’s name, price, and image for you. We keep a short-term copy of these extracted details (for up to 30 days) so the same link doesn’t have to be fetched again.
Guest claim information. When a guest claims a gift, we collect their first name, last name, and email address, along with the date and time of the claim. This lets the registry owner see who reserved what, and lets the guest modify or remove their claim later.
Feedback and issue reports. If you choose to send us feedback or report an issue, we receive the content you submit, along with your account email address.
When a guest claims a gift, we generate a one-time claim code and show it to them. We store only a salted cryptographic hash of that code — the readable code itself is never stored on our servers. Together with the guest’s email address, the code is what authorizes changes to a claim, which is why we ask guests to keep it.
Your public registry. The registry you create is visible to anyone who has the link — that is its purpose. This includes partner names, event date, photos, personal message, and gift list. Guests do not need an account to view or claim gifts.
Service providers. We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service: our hosting platform (Base44), a web data extraction service used only for product link auto-fill (ScrapingBee), and an email delivery service. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their part of the Service.
Advertising platforms. We promote the Service with ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest. When you interact with our ads on those platforms, they collect information under their own privacy policies. If you visit our site after seeing one of our ads, the measurement tags described in the Cookies section may send those platforms limited information (such as the fact that the site was visited) so we can measure how our ads perform.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to respond to a valid legal request.
We do not sell personal information.
We collect basic usage analytics (such as which pages are visited) to understand how the Service is being used and to improve it. Advertising performance is measured only through the platform tags described in the Cookies and local storage section.
The Service relies on a strictly necessary session cookie set when you log in, which keeps you signed in as you move through the app. Your browser’s local storage also holds your login token for the same purpose.
Advertising measurement cookies. When we run ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) or Pinterest, our pages may include those platforms’ advertising measurement tags. These can set cookies or similar technologies on your device to report when someone who saw or clicked our ad visits the site, so we know which ads are working. They are set by those platforms under their own privacy policies. We never use them to follow you across unrelated websites, and you can block or clear them in your browser settings — though blocking cookies entirely means you will need to sign in again each visit.
We keep account and registry information for as long as your account is active. When you delete a registry or gift item, it is removed from public view immediately.
Confirm with counsel how long residual copies and platform backups may retain deleted records, and whether a stated retention period is required.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including storing claim codes only as salted hashes. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can access, correct, or ask us to delete your personal information at any time by contacting us at support@eventenvision.ca. You can also delete your registries and gift items yourself from your dashboard. Guests can modify or remove their claim using their email address and claim code.
Our Service is operated from Canada, and this policy is intended to meet Canadian privacy law expectations.
Determine whether visitors from the EU/UK or other jurisdictions are expected, and whether GDPR- or CCPA-specific rights language and handling processes are needed.
The Service is intended for adults planning a wedding, anniversary, bridal shower, or other celebration and their guests. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be reflected there.
